I've been out of town for the weekend; just got back in the wee hours this morning.

Joegeezer, the stuff you presently see on my website is built for high-end home audio, and is not representative of what I'll be doing with bass cabs. There I'm using exotic woofers that cost me over $400 each and high frequency sections that are not far behind; multi-wall and/or constrained-layer-damped cabinets with veneered and/or solid wood exteriors; several hundred dollar's worth of designer capacitors in the crossovers, etc. None of that is practical in a bass cab.

Since you mentioned Bergantino, I took a look at their site and as far as size and weight the AE410 is pretty close to the cab Jimmy is talking about. I looked up the price one of their dealers is asking, and it's $1129. I'll be in the same general ballpark... unless one of us wins that Wal-Mart contract!

I doubt that I'll ever compete with Avatar. Frankly I don't see how Avatar competes with Avatar.

Well Joe, the good news is that it's all about the player and not the gear. The bad news is yeah, they will be priced higher than an Avatar 410 I have no idea what they'll go for but I'd like to think Duke knows we're musicians and not big rock stars outfitting their 3rd house with a stereo system. OTOH, quality costs, and he's not just throwing speakers in a box. This is pretty high concept stuff.

Yeah, these won't be aimed at the guys who wonder if they can gig with 60 watts. Expensive components, maticulous cabinetry, and precise engineering make for fine stuff. But don't come cheap.
