See, I *liked* AJ Brown's RH450 through my TC112. Different strokes and all that :D

Also, I am interested to hear what he does with guitar. My current favorite amp definitely sounds its best off-axis and uses a very "voiced" speaker to get the sound I like, but I'd be interested to hear it.

Funny you should mention. This week I'm finishing up some custom soffit-mount studio monitors that use the 3012LF in about 4.5 cubic feet. Same horn as Thunderchild, more expensive compression driver. And yeah, I sweated the crossover.

Mighty big box for the woof there, Duke. I haven't had the 3015LF in much bigger than 5.75 cf. Sound serious too: actual soffit mounting shows they aren't all-out pikers about acoustics. Or their consultant isn't ; }

Trouble with that for me is once I do something like that, a big honking box tuned appropriately, I start Crazy Thinkin'... like... hauling something around like that for gigs, and using my layered synth bass stuff a lot. And forgetting everyone but the drummer.

Yeah, that is a big box. Because of anticipated boundary reinforcement, I expect the final tuning on the studio monitors to be fairly low, like in the lower 30's to upper 20's. In situations like that my target response is the inverse of room gain, so that we don't get "boom". The studio will get several different port lengths to try out and see which works best.

Hey Ken (or other TC owners) would you be willing to get some EXACT measurements of the cab. Ie: measure to the outsides of the protective cornering and include the woofer screen convex. I'm having a case made and trying to order it so they both arrive at the same time.

Actually he did ask me first, and I told him that I don't know the exact measurements including the hardware, and don't have any Thunderchild cabs on hand right now.

I know the box, but not exactly how much the corners, feet, and grille pooch-out-ness add to the box dimensions. We'd probably end up around 22.75" tall by 14.5" wide by 14.25" deep counting all the hardware, but that's just an estimate.

both Tuiki and LeCover have exact measurements for the 112. Just call them up. Le Cover has two versions, one with a large cutout on top for the handle and the nice recessed handle cup (this is the one I like), the other has just a small cutout for the handle itself (works fine also,and provides a bit more rain protection.

With Lecover, and I assume Tuki, you can order with no logo for an extra $10 (just looks better if you care about it) and a velcro bottom tie down strap (which is handy if you are sliding the cab into or out of a van, SUV or truck.

If you want to use another company, I'm glad to remeasure and post up.

Yes, the Tuki is available with no logo, that's how mine are. The opening on the Tuki is the wider one that matches the handle cup, that's how I measured it for them.

I know that Tuki, and I assume LeCover, asks you to omit corners when measuring. The OP mentioned having a "case" made, so perhaps it's a hard shell that needs more exact measurements?

Tuki and LeCover add their estimate of the additional width, depth and height for the corners when they make the cover.

I also provided the cut-out spec to LeCover, but then I guess somebody requested that the top cut-out only be as big as the strap handle. I have one of each for my two cabs and they both work great. Like you, I prefer the full cutout... makes it very easy and comfortable to carry.

Anyway, to the OP, I'm glad to remeasure if you dont' want to use LeCover or Tuki... let me know.

In that case, the box itself is 22" tall by 14" wide by 13.5" deep, the grille pooches out about 3/4", and the feet are about 3/8" tall.

Here is a top picture of both cover designs. The 'handle slit' one on the left had just come out of the shipping box, so is still all wrinkled up. They look the same now.

Thanks guys. I'm planning to have Studio Slips make me an enclosed padded case and she wanted to get the exact measurements of the cab including the protective corners. I guess just adding 1/2" to each measurement should do it.
