used my AF112 this weekend at a gig with guys in a room ive been playing every few months or so for the past 12-15 yrs. i didnt mention to anyone that anything was new (and they sure wouldnt notice by just looking) and everyone gave me unsolicited compliments on my tone that night. i was playing with a great drummer who didnt play too loud (for a change) so that might have been part of it. but either way, it sounded great, and to me, it felt great. when i pulled the string the bass felt the way i wanted it to feel, so i could play the way i wanted to play. this is not always the case with every setup ive played. does anyone know what i mean?
also, just curious if anyone uses the cab with the ports in. i had the ports in all night. didnt even attempt to take them out. i had them out at home and the low end seemed alittle too much for my tastes, so i didnt even try it on the gig since the cab was very close to a wall in a room that has no problem reproducing low end.
