But back on topic, I've kept in contact with guys from auditions, actually hooked two of them up. The one guy I plucked from an audition didn't work out. He wasn't prepared for the first audition, but had lots of raw talent. Figured maybe the material wasn't his thing. He turned out to never be prepared. Almost good enough to wing it, but unfortunately, not quite.

I probably did not explain how this work.

I agree guys my age on the make is pretty creepy.

But this is how it works, believe it or not there are young women that for some reason are curious about older men. Thats where the oportunities are. I have never approached or hit on a younger woman.

It's really weird when it happens. You have to take it for what it's worth.

Me I have been dating the same lady exclusively for almost a year, I met her at a show I was playing. She's 15 years younger than me. I don't consider that much of a difference.

31 years is a huge difference.

Live and let live, we should all be allowed to do our own thing. Me, I am non-judgemental, when it comes to race, age religion, politics ect... However I do draw the line when it comes to drummers with no concept of tempo.

Just remember, it's those rare shows, when your tone is great, the sound and lighting are awesome. Your band is clicking and the crowd is engaged. Thats why most of us do this.

I don't purposely audition to network, but the contacts made are a nice side effect.

Agreed, I have auditioned for bands and not made it, but one of the guys referred me to another band that was looking.
