Hey Anarchyok, I'm local to Main St Music. I'm there every week ;)

Yeah, they have an Ebony 400w head ATM in stock, and a 410 cab.

I haven't played the head and cab they have there now, but I checked out a 250w 1x15" combo from Ebony they had in for a while. I wasn't impressed with that, it farted out even with the low E on a four string :eek: Despite trying ultra low gain, and only pushing the main volume up about 1/4.

I guess I kinda got turned off by that, but having said that, I have looked at the 400w head, and 410 and the build quality does look nice.

I should try it sometime. I'd like to play aussie gear if it was as good as what I'm currently playing, and well priced.

As for Lab Systems gear, I haven't played any of it, as it's out of my price range, so I haven't bothered yet. Everyone I know loves it, but it sure is expensive.

I would recommend a Behringer EP 2500...I got one from Billy Hydes for $625, you shouldn't pay more than $650. I compared it directly to my Eden WT-550 power amp and couldn't hear a difference tonally, although there is a lot more power...it weighs 17Kg but! Then get the best preamp you can afford locally...there's a lot of second hand stuff out there also.
