i've been...... playing this looped into the headset while i play CoD. take THAT Frat-Basssstarrrrrrrds. go back to Halo if you want to jump all over the map.
although i like it a lot, i'm willing to admit it's not everybody's cup of tea. or keg. or whatevah.

if i was ever playing and people were really annoying in my mic, i always wanted to turn on strange noise music and put the mic next to it. like...ambient vocal drone or something similar. just to creep them out. never done it before.
might use this comp to do so.
Black Ops? yep. 360? yep. getting close to the 6th Prestige? YESH.
yah, i got tired of just muting everybody. i don't wear a mic usually since i don't ever play with friends, so i just hear them blabbing about "Jersey Shores" this and "You Sniper F**" that over my speakers. only plug in the mic to make them listen to Merzbow, this comp or angry IDM. grrrrarrrrr.

I've listened to this compilation quite a few times now, and I wanted to offer my reactions to each track.
First of all, I want to salute all the contributors - you are a creative and courageous bunch of waveform manglers!
I am going to have to single out one track as a particularly stunning piece - coincidentally, the first track, "Burnt" by AMFMSB
Wow! I really thought at first that this was either done outside of the quidelines or else a group effort - but you answered these questions in the other thread, and I think it's remarkable what you were able to do as a solo improviser, in a single take. This is the kind of performance that I aspire to creating myself, if only I could learn how work all those things at once!
Next, BlackHoleNebula with "Quantum String Theory"
-One loooong drooooney drone which starts to hurt my ears as it reaches the end - Oh, the sumptuous agony!
As it happens to come right after AMFMSB's more structured track, providing a pure-noise counterpoint.
"Assimilation" - Cheapbasslovin - this one oozes, ebbs and flows like good noise should! I particularly like the steam-venting-like background noises.
"Sicq Leaves" - Crotchthrottle - A great track! The delicate harmonic notes ring out against a slightly disturbing ambient background, creating a certain kind of dark beauty.
Okay, gotta go for now.
I'll try to come back soon and continue to work my way through all the tracks....

(Well I've been sick for 3 weeks, kinda let this lie fallow, and with not much feedback don't even know if anyone cares, but still I feel it necessary to complete this mission.)
Working my way through the tracks, the next one track on the list is from me, DreadRaver so actually, I'd like to get some feedback from you! It sounds like I did the most lo-fi recording of the bunch.
iplaybass09 - First word that comes to my mind is Sproingy! (If that is a word? I guess it is now.)
Second word is Funky - this is our Funk Noise track! But what I am really interested in is that sound that opens it - the modulation thing going on throughout in the background - cool. Looped?
JohnnyBee "No Water" - Very unnerving, but I like it, it's a great track, I especially dig the long drawn out ascending/descending drones.
jpTron "Mya" - Wow! Very percussive, with almost no tonality. Vacillates between the vastness of outer-space and the claustrophobic deep sea feeling for me. This is another one of the more "purist" noise pieces.
Mr. Pickles - "Miromol" - This could be the sounds of life in an insectoid factory complex. Sounds like crazy things buzzing around in the air. Very cool sounds.

I rolled marbles up and down the fretboard of my six string Corvette with the bridge pup soloed and the mids and treble cranked> Looped that live and messed around with my boss ps3.

(I'm iplaybass09)Now that that is over with, I can't exactly remember what exactly that modulation was, I had that track copy and pasted so many times it could be a variety of things. I'll have to find my original master. I think I had a Shepard's tone generator open it, I can't remember.
Aw, thanks DR! It's always gratifying to know when people actually take the time to listen. I've used this track as the bed track for a song on the upcoming Crotchthrottle album, due out... whenever I get all of the songs mastered and the artwork done.
(So hopefully in the next month or so).And NateS, I am totally down for round 4 whenever everyone else is!
I would really say let's talk to Mr. Pickles. He's done a fantastic job running these first three, and I would have to try to start one only because it wouldn't feel nearly as official. I'll send him a pm
