Avatar 4x10 Neo question.

Looking to get a 410 Neo, not sure whether to go with standard carpet, tolex, or linex. I'm leaning toward the standard. I've never seen their cabs, so I'm in the dark.

Anyone think I should look to some other 4x10 cab, let me know. A guy locally has an SVT410HE for $350, but it's technically not a full-range cab, and I don't want a two-cab rig.

My amp is a Shuttle 6.0.

I would go tolex or line x if you have the extra $$. It is a great Cab, nothing much can touch it in that price range.

Tolex looks nice when it's new (especially the colors) but can easily get damaged (torn) so a padded cover would help greatly. Carpet will not show dents and such as easily as tolex but will be a magnet for link and animal hair and bar smells (smoke if it's still allowed). Line-x will probably be the most durable and will withstand some bumps and scapes but it can still get damaged if you bump something hard enough. Also, the roughness of the line-x will scrape paint of other objects and you may see the colored scuff marks on it.

On any of these a padded cover will keep it looking new longer but it's not necessary. I have a B210 with the Line-x finish and don't have a cover for it . . . yet.

True. I have two Avatar cabs in Line-X and one (used) with carpet. Everyone hates monkey fur, but it is more durable than Tolex. Get the Line-X if you can possibly afford it; if not, I'd stick with the fur.

Carpet is a pain in the *ss to keep clean especially if you have pets. Cats love to make them their scratching posts. But Freddels is right. Tolex can peel and show every little dent that you get in it. And Once tolex peels it looks real bad. I have the Avatar Neo 410 cab in carpet and its not that hard to keep clean. You can either use duck tape to pick up residue on the carpet or vacumm it. Plus you don't have to pay the up charge.
