I definitely think you are on the right track with the BS-2.

Those long cables could definitely be sucking some high-end. The EB volume pedal is also a possible culprit (I know a few guitarists who swear it kills their tone)... Would you consider putting the BS-2 after your fuzz boxes & put the volume pedal after the buffer? The BS-2 will preserve anything entering the volume pedal that way.

TB loopers could help you out, but you will still need an "always-on" buffer.

that'd work, cause a volume pedal before the fuzzes or overdrives would alter the amount of dirt coming out of those pedals.

interesting. so even thought if EB pedal has tone suck and isn't TB (btw, are any volume pedals TB???) the buffered tone will (before the volume pedal) keep it going anyway since it's low impedance? and then the rest of the FX are TB so it won't matter?

yes they are. L sound (www.lsound.com) does great work.

korg pitchblack guy due to it's small size. interesting thought though.

The Korg tuner that preceded the Pitchblack (forget the model name) also has a decent buffer in it, apparently. FWIW, I've experiemtned in the past with putting buffers on the pedalboard -- tried the tiny one from the DoobTone used to make and the one built in to the valvulator. Never heard much of an appreciable difference between them, or between the sound coming out of my basses when the preamps were engaged.

interesting. i have a DT-10 and i'll have to try putting that in the middle of my chain and see if it affects the tone at all.

very true. if i can't notice anything, than i'll just live with the tone suck.

if not, there are usually some monster bass cables in the classifieds that work GREAT for that
