Double Bass Azola basses .....any interest out there.

Hello all,
I've been away from all this for the last few years, and you're all still chasing that EUB dream....interesting. Well, I've been storing all my stuff, thinking that some day I would return to building some basses. But, my involvement in the car world has pretty much consumed me, so I have decided that I probably won't build anything more in any quantity. So, to all you that have been struggling with trying to design, R&D, and build something that works, here's your chance to fast forward through some years. I have everything that a budding young woodworker could use to build a hundred or so BugBass style basses, and more. I also have lots of wood, specific to the basses I built, but it could be used for other things as well. Anyone interested, maybe we should talk.
Keep up the good work,
Steve Azola

I hope the moderators don't look at this as a "for sale ad" . Its really a "is there anybody out there that wants to carry on what I started ad?"

Hi, I am very new to the EUB world, but I am starting to think about making some of them. I'm not sure I want to get into it to the extent that you have, but I'd be interested in seeing what you may have that I could use. Please feel free to drop me a private message and we can chat. Thanks

Hey Steve. Hope all is well. I've owned a few Azola basses when I was playing more salsa gigs a few years back. They were fantastic instruments! I am not playing much eub at the moment, but still have an Ampeg just in case. And I'd love to find an Azola Bug bass with diaphragm pickup. I would order one today if you were still building.

Anyway, I think the ideal partnership would be with Bruce Johnson. I know he is really busy at the moment so I'm not sure that would work out, but we could always dream...

Steve very interested in what you have available for inventory.....equipment , materials , etc..... my partners an I are just getting our venture off the ground... we see a need for a instrument built in the good ole USA. One of our biggest issues is getting decent quality seasoned wood at fair prices .We have a small woodworking shop where we do our builds. My family and I have been in the retail music business for over 50 yrs ,my partners are luthiers who have been building string instruments an repairing for years, it was my idea to venture into building EUB style instruments seeing the demand for something built here. I'm very interested in any knowledge you would be willing to share with us. regards ,James [email protected]
