B1X Four -- how to restore to default settings?

I got the B1X four when it first came out. I'm not much of an effects guy, so I thought $99 was a great price to try a bunch of different effects instead of buying umpteen individual pedals. I found the unit pretty frustrating to edit patches, and it turned out there is zero activity in the zoom forum / guitar lab for new b1x patches. When I got it I had the hope there would be a place where people would trade patch files that approximate the bass tone of various musicians/songs.

After collecting dust for the past 18 months, I broke out the B1X four again. I found guitar lab has gone up a few revisions, and a few new effects have been released. It said 17 effects updated (great).

But the real issue is when I go to the patch tab, most of the patches have an exclamation mark next to it, which the manual says the patch won't work because the pedal doesn't have the effects needed by the patch. That is kind of crazy, since I haven't deleted anything. Clicking on the first one (patch 1-0, "Sans Clean") depends on "BlackOpt", "BassPEQ", "Bass DRV", "(Bass DRV)", "PDL Vol", "(6)", "(7)". I assume the last two mean empty slots in the chain. All of the listed effects are shown as available in the Effect tab. What gives?

A second issue is the EDITOR tab is grayed out -- I cannot select it and edit any patch, even ones which is shows as being operational.

What I'd like to do is reset the unit to its default state and see if that clears things up. The unit has a way of saving and restoring snapshots of configurations, but I don't have any saved ones and I don't see that the Zoom support page has a convenient "restore this to set everything back to default" file I can download.

Does anyone have ideas what is going wrong here? If it matters, I'm running on windows 10.

Thanks for any help or pointers to help.
