b2.1u Swr model overdrive problem

HI, I just got a new b2.1u this week.
that sound great, but I got a problem.
When I Use SWR model(without any other effects)
and play my D and G strings harder, It will be some overdrive sound...very annoying...
I already set my patch output 60, gain under 30
(with yamaha passive bass)
How could I avoid the overdrive????

the SWR patch does overdrive that way...it's part of the characteristic of the amp simulation...a couple of the other amp sims do as well...

to avoid it, you should start at the beginning of your "chain"...the compressor/limiter... and set the output of this a little lower...patch output will only make the overall volume of the patch softer and not change the sound characteristic at all.

Bumping since this issue is driving me insane. I think the Ampeg model - B0 - and the Sansamp model -B8- sound really good. Problem is the nasty high frequency clipping noise, like a blown tweeter. I notice it with active basses, passive basses, into an amp, direct to the board for recordings, direct into the PA at practice, or through headphones. It's a shame really as the Ampeg model sounds awesome with higher drive settings, which is when the noise gets worse. I just can't dial it out.

If you can't adjust it out then it implies to me your sending too hot a signal. What happens when you turn the bass down?
