B7K or Xotic RC Boost/B3K combo?

I was watching Juan Alderete's overdrive wars where he tests out the Xotic RC and the Darkglass B3K and for a split second he had them both on at the same time and the sound was amazing. But.........

Those two pedals are over $400 combined, and although I can afford it, I'm wondering whether a B7K would sort of do what Xotic/B3K combo do. Man, how I wish the EQ and Drive circuits in the B7K sould be accessed separately!

Anyhow, to those who have time and care to chime in.....what would you do given the parameters?

I'm leaning towards the B7K to save money, but the RC/B3K combo is obviously more flexible in the long run.

I had the rc booster/b3k for some time but eventually upgraded to amptweaker and grizzly bass.

Xotic is an incredible box, but had to let it go to fund the GB.

B3K is good, specially paired with a barbershop.

If that is your options i will take b3k/rc (2nd hans if money is an issue) but to be honest there are better options out there (at least on my opinion)

The main draw back th B7k would have functionality wise is that the B3K+outboard EQ combo would allow you to operate both together snd separately, the b7k would have the obvious advantage on side and ease of set up (less cables, etc).
From a practical point of view I don't see either option as better or worse, it's all up to your oersonal preferences and needs as a musician.

Obvious disclaimer here is that I can't really comment on th sound differences because I haven't tried the Xotic and even if I had, it wouldn't be too ethical on my side to give my opinion when I have a vested interested on your choice.

Thanks Darkglass. I was also the OP of the recent 2 switch B7K thread. After a lot of careful consideration, I decided on the flexibility of the B3K/RC boost combo.

image.jpg I use both lately. I basically use them as separate tone options. The eq is vastly different between the two. Especially since then xotic doesn't have mids. The B7k gets a more aggressive sound while the xotic gets a more vintage like tone. I was on the fence with the B3k, but the tone controls made the b7 an easy choice. I also have a trilogic pre which I plan to try in its place since it has mids
