Double Bass Back coming undone - easy hide glue fix for the diy'r

Ok, the last time I glued this back on with hide glue was 35 years ago, after an accident. Has held for thousands of dates in all kinds of weather, amazing.

Last summer while playing an outdoor gig I could see sunlight through the 'f' hole coming into the bass from a 6" long separation of the back from the side.

This is a '60s carved bass. Finally got around to ordering some hide glue, $6 plus $3 shipping.

Super easy if you ever need to do it. Mix the glue with water, heat, clamp, clean up and walk away. Don't be scared to try this.

This is my work horse gign' bass, so I don't mind diy repair on it.
On my Chandler 'stay at home' bass, only a pro is going to touch it :)
