Hmmm... the tailpiece will be ebony, so I think that slightly disqualifies it as a trapeze tailpiece, though I'm no expert.

Back from a hiatus for a deployment and here's where I'm at.

My friend's Jazzmaster is done. He'll have it for Christmas.

An unfortunate mishap with a concrete floor required refinishing the fretless 6. I like it better now anyway.

The back was too nice to hide.

Finally my other friend's semi-hollow archtop is making progress.

The headstock. I am extremely pleased with the binding and veneers.

I should be around for a couple of months, so hopefully I can finish these last two and make some good progress on a pair of Gibson L5 style archtops.

Well, the bass is pretty much done. I sanded through the nitro on the cavity cover, so I'm waiting for the nitro to cure on that before wet sanding and polishing it.

Thanks a lot guys! I'm really happy with how the burst turned out. I'll be trying to replicate it on one of my upcoming archtop guitars.

I'll get some better details shots up once I get the cavity cover completed.

Geoff that is amazing work, what was the final weight of your fretless 6? I am also using analine dye, infact thats all I have ever used, I like the black shooting before applying the red it really enhances the grain. Absolute beauty!!!

@Snort - thanks a lot! The final weight came in at 9 lbs 5 oz, so a couple of oz heavier it than the fretted 6. Analine dye seems to work very well and is forgiving of errors, in that they can be fairly easily corrected through blending with the different colours of the burst. A guitar I'm working on is going to have an amber burst, so I'm excited to see how that turns out.

@T-34 - Yeah, the burst turned out far better than I'd even hoped. Once I get the cover on I'll get a shot up of the burst back.
