Back in the game!!!

It’s been over ten years but this upcoming Wednesday I’m getting together with a guitar player.
He wants to work primarily on metal originals which I’m fine with, however, metal is far from my expertise though I enjoy listening to it.
Any pointers ?
I’ll be taking my mexi jazz bass which I’ve tuned to BEAD along with an orange sp112 ( technically a 212 but isobaric), my terror bass 500 head , and probably my brimstone audio cross over distortion pedal.
Currently I’m working on a pedal board which has a boss compressor and a Darkglass bk3 along with a tricerachorus.

All I know of the guitar players rig is he’s using an 8 string ltd guitar.
I’m sure it will be a lot of trial and error getting down the right configuration.
I also have a second sp212.

Earplugs?

Lol yea.
On a serious note though, I’ve been playing over 20 years and really screwed up my left ear by not wearing earplugs when I was younger, so yes, earplugs are a must.
