Chevrolet was prompted to change the name of their Nova to "Caribe" in their Central & South American market, after someone gently pointed out that, in Spanish, "No va" means "won't/doesn't go". And, who wants a car that won't go....?

There used to be a higher end luxury/sporty car company from Germany called "Bitter". I don't think they're around anymore.
