bad relic recovery

i recently got my hands on a black bass that the prevoius owner to a brillo or somthing to it
and left it all scratched up in some sort of bad relic job , any suggestion to remove these or do i need to refinish?

Depending on how bad it is, you might try buffing with varying compounds and hand pad or drill mounted pad (carefully).

This worked for me on a black bass that had been gone over with a scotchbrite pad.

Yeah, depends how bad it is. If it’s just surface scratches in poly, it can probably be wet sanded and buffed out. If it cut through to color coat, might need a full refin. Post photos.
