Bad string?

I recently bought a set of Fender 9050MLs. After putting them on my MIM P bass I noticed what sounds like a slight buzzing sound from the E string. The other 3 sound clean. I can hear this acoustically and amplified. This is the first time this P has had flats as it has worn nickel rounds since I've had it.

I'm going to check this out more thoroughly to make sure there isn't something else on the bass doing the buzzing (saddle, screw, etc.). But I don't recall ever hearing this before. Just curious if this sounds like I have a bad string here.

Myself, I have had this very thing happened on Fender bases from the factory with theirs strings and on rounds from Fender. It's like the E string wrap is not wound tight to the core and I get buzzing or a phasing sound out of the E.

I got a dead e string on my new bass and the string buzzes also . Just wondering why dead strings buzz like that. I have had strings go dull with age, but not go buzzy.

I've had 2 bad taperwound E strings from the same company, and they promptly sent me replacements. They gave off a rattling buzz I've never heard before.
