Bad vibes

I'm new to playing bass and was wondering if theres anything I can do about some distortion and buzz I'm getting through my amp when i play f through g on the a string, and a few other random notes. I'm using a Behringer Bx600 60 watt bass. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I made sure all the screws were tight. Would putting some foam between the speaker and the box help? Or even some kind of caulking?

There could be many things causing your problem, however I doubt foam or caulk will help. Could be that the notes you are playing are hitting the resonance point of the cabinet and something is loose. I would open the cabinet and take a close look at everything inside to be sure none of the bracing has vibrated loose. I had a twin 15 once that shook itself apart very badly. I added extra bracing screwed and epoxied in to fix that.

Also be sure it is the amp. Try another bass if you can, you never know.

If possible, try a different speaker.
A Behringer bass combo I once had had a stronger amplifier than the speaker. The speaker rattled at high volume.

Also, the smaller bass combo amps don't always handle the low string too well - many have trouble with playing "G" and lower.
