Ry and I were developing the DD and what would eventually become the heartbreaker side by side. The primary difference is the overall voltage to the IC and the clipping diodes. Otherwise they're essentially the same circuit.
The early DD's came with trimpots, but I've always liked those controls on the outside.

I'm not going to try to sell this too hard, but I wanted to give y'all first dibs.
I'm clearing out gear and I thought I'd let y'all know that I've got a Wild Goose overdrive on the block. I built several of these to sell a while back, but I've been hanging onto this one as my own personal model, but I'm not playing out just now and I'm clearing out some of my gear.
This is a 12AU7 driven overdrive with gain/tone/vol controls hand-built by yours truly with a NOS JAN tube and all high quality carbon comp resistors / mallory caps. The on/off switch engages the heaters so that the pedal is warm and ready when you hit the footswitch.
This is no high gain distortion pedal, but it's a great way to add tube character, grit and girth to your solid state or to drive the preamp of your tube amp.
Great on guitar or bass.
I may also have a used Wayfarer if anyone's interested.

Mine doesn't have the on/off switch. Does mine automatically warm the tube when power is plugged in? I haven't played on it in a while, so I'm rusty on the details.

Yep, with yours the heaters are active whenever the power adapter is plugged in. The switch allows you to leave it plugged in, but still be able to cut the power to the heaters.
Sweet score whoever.... I still have both of mine and still play them on occasion. I'm about to cycle the WF back on the board for a stint.
I saw that sweet little guitar amp you posted on FB a few weeks ago. If I played guitar at all, I would have probably bought it from you. That thing was sweet and priced to sell!
Yeah, I generally sell them at cost so I can fund the next build. I'll probably be selling another combo soon.

I am a lucky man in that a very very friendly TB'r here is sending a Honeycomb my way this week and I cant wait to plug into it and play it!! It looks like its going to sound awesome

I had one for a while. It's mellow, but gives a tube-like warmth to your tone. I got a tube preamp that replaced it, but it's good for price. Try it after dirt pedals to give their sound more depth and feel.

I'll keep it in mind. I figured I'd put it towards the end of my chain in preamp land. Just took my VT off my board to start a different one. I think I'll probably put it in the VT's empty spot.
Well, I got the honeycomb. I only played it for about a min but it seems like it doesn't do all that much besides a substantial volume boost. I barely noticed any overdrive. As stated, it's VERY subtle. I haven't tried it behind my OD's and dist though. I need to spend some time with it I guess. Are there any mods for this thing?
What bass are you using with it?
There is one resistor that you can change to up the output/dirt level. It's a 1k resistor and it can be exchanged for ~ a 50 ohm resistor. I have resistors I can send you if you're comfortable making the swap.

That would be awesome!!!! I am totally comfortable making the swap. I use an ATK 300 most the time and I have a modded squire P as well. Thank you for you generosity. I'll PM you.
getting gregmon79's old Honeycomb OD and look forward to it adding some of its honey to my other pedals.
I plan on placing it after my HOG but before my Red Ripper to add some tube warmth to it (I did a similar thing with an Infinity Drive a couple years back and it worked great but I always had it dialed back. Hopefully this fits the bill for low-gain OD!
