Baddy One Shoe pedals

Its just curiosity, nothing will replace the RT but I LOVE the Proco Rat so i just want to know what else you could possibly due to a already awesome pedal. Did i mention i love Rats and own two :D

The basic flavor will still be RAT, but just a different direction than Ry's. My hope is to add nuance through clipping options so that you might be able to keep the rat flavor, but tweak it for different applications.

If with a few flips of the switch you could go from fuzzy high output to smooth and tube-like it seems like that might have some merit.

Speaking of mods I've developed a bass mod to the infinity drives, so please be sure to mention the "bass mod" if that's something anyone is interested in. Previously shipped IDs are getting free upgrades.

I just got my Infinity Drive back today from having the bass mod done! I like it much better! I still need some time to find "MY" sweet spot, but I'm still pretty new to effects and it takes me a while...

I honestly really like this pedal a lot. The tone, to me, is fantastic! I've also run it into my VT Bass and the combination of the two really adds some low end that was missing in the pedal without the bass mod.

Thanks again Jim!

yeppers. i've only had a bit less than a half hour with it, so i'm with WaterPilot'er where i need some more time before i get a feel for what all it can do, but it's already WAY better on bass. the tone knob sits in a verrrrrrry good range. digging it a lot so far.

thanks Jimbori!

Just checkin' in to see how this is coming along...

Soon.....soon........

I would say give me another week and I'll post prototype / clips. I'll take pre-orders at that point. I've got two different clipping schemes I'm trying to decide between. Really, it's going to come down to my ears, and some time.

Jimmy,

I was coming in here to ask you how things were going. I plan on paying you a visit first week of May. I'll PM you later to work out a good day and time.

How was the Raliegh GTG? I saw the video posted. Looked like they held it in a head shop! What was the deal with that?!

Also, Gard agreed to let me raid the Roscoe shop. Ok, maybe not raid, but he's says it's cool if I swing by for a sight seeing expedition into the birth place of Roscoe basses. I'll be checking that out during business hours on Thursday May 5. Ever been there? If you're free, let's grab a Red Oak at Hams and go check it out. Maybe you could also see about getting Music Loft and/or Don's to carry your pedals. Just spitballing ideas here. Feel free to ignore them. I'm just getting supper stoked about my trip back home. It's been a while since I've been back.

The GTG was awesome. Lots of cool basses and funky jamming. It was definitely halfway a head shop though!

I might have to see if I can meet up with you to check out the Roscoe shop. I'm totally GASsing for one of their 4 string century standards now.

The music loft in Durham is no more, which is a bummer, but the one in Carrboro is still kicking, and I work in Chapel Hill so I'm over there all the time. I may talk to Jim about carrying one or two of my pedals.

As for the Black Flag, I'm having all sorts of problems with polarity issues and have set it aside for a while. I was building an amp last week, so that took my attention, but I came back to the rat last night and mysteriously, the same problem arose. I was pretty frustrated with it so I may just move on to my next project for a little while. Plus I just sold out of infinity drives again so I've got to get on to making more of them.

Looking forward to hanging out in May though brother!

so....does the black flag od have anything to do with the band?

unless its underwraps....

Nope, nothing to do with the band. Here's how I got it.

Rats made me think about the black plague. The black plague made me thing about the quarantine flags that ships fly with the black circle on the yellow field. Ships made me think of pirates. Pirates sail under a black flag.

That's also roughly how I came up with the controls as well.

Although I will say that it's being rather recalcitrant right now, and I'm just not happy with it. I may have jumped the gun on announcing this one, because I only bring pedals to production when I'm totally compelled by their awesomeness to do so, and this one is not playing well with my soul. I've been working out some design issues with it that were causing polarity problems, and after a week of sitting it aside while I was building an amp It's still not where I want it. Currently I would list it as "hijacked" and it may end up going overboard. I've got some other prospects that may mean I have to stick to higher production on a few core pedals. (infinity drive /Punch&Grind /Hot Cup-O-Fuzz / honeycomb+)
