I really like the blue stuff used in the Streamliner, the Mesa and the Demeter, but it seems like in the red/orange territory would be appropriate based on your logo colors. Blue is mellow, but red is angry!

I've heard from a number of users they have a very aggressive midrange.
Don't know the exact range. I play R&B, blues and a little jazz.

You'll be fine. They're very responsive to technique, so a little extra fingertip meat and playing over the neck pickup will do the trick.

I have heard of the Retroglide. How close is it to the ABM series?
If it's similar to the ABM stuff it might be a perfect match for the ML 112.
I play an older ABM 500 with the ML112. With the EQ disengaged the ML112 sound great (at home). Still articulate with no excessive peaks/spikes at any frequency. (I make adjustments on stage, usually increasing the 180 and 1.3K sliders.)
I use flats on a single-coil equipped bass, usually favoring more (or mostly) neck pickup.
I really like this cab with flatwound strings. My playing has changed since moving to these cabs. It seems my technique is more conscious and controlled due to hearing myself so much better during rehearsals and shows (that's oversimplified, but I'm trying to keep it brief...and non-pious).
Sounds great with a Mesa Walkabout as well, if you like it more aggressive.
I play the ABM with my "surf" band, and the Walkabout with my "metal" band ("____" = closest one-word description).
The midrange clarity is one of the best things about this cabinet. I guess you could call it aggressive compared to other designs, but in a live mix all I hear is articulation and clarity. I use a Precision with Flats and a Jazz with Rounds. Either using a GK MB500 or an Ampeg PF350. I don't think you would regret buying one(or 2) of these!
Also, if you really like the Ashdown and want lighter, the Streamliner can sound pretty close through a ML112 (that is, I was able to make the ABM sound like the Streamliner). They work great together.
