Baer Amplification Megathread!

Personally, I prefer the 2x112 setup:
-it's more flexible because you can use one cab if you want to
-the vertical stack totally suits me
-I think two smaller boxes are easier to move

I prefer a 112 and 212 which is even more modular if you have a head that'll do 2.66 ohms. However, in the case of the ML112, I can't imagine ever needing both the 212 and 112 together, so I agree with you here.

Remember that it has both mid drivers optimally placed in a vertical 'array' at the top of the cab. That should totally eliminate any issue with hearing yourself when standing close to the cab, even though the cab itself is a touch shorter than stacking the ML112's on their sides.

I've been using a 2 of something vertical stack for well over 10 years now.
A single 410/212 just doesn't feel right to me anymore.

Also, a 2x112 stack, at least in theory, makes a "nice little line array" that should throw into a room cleaner.

This little baby sits nicely behind the handle when the cabs are horizontal position and is a nice width for them when they are vertical. It also has enough weight in it that it feels stable sat on top of the cabs, at 5kgs it is still really nice to carry.

Nice! Probably the best bedroom tone I've ever had (as long as you keep the gain out of fizzy territory). And I don't mean that pejoratively at all.

+1 it is loud and raucous but I have found that by dropping the gain a little and backing off the mids it can sort of do civilised as well, but who wants civilised hey. Looking forward to playing this rig live next week. The terrors natural growl really snarls through the ML112, and its huge low end comes across as full and punchy without any boom. I think they could be attach made in heaven!

I think that if you want an authentic valve tone in a lightweight amp this is a great option. I wanted an AD200 but not the weight, this seems like a great compromise, I am a huge fan of these ml cabs, even just one can cover a decent gig especially with pa support.

OK!

After last night's rehearsal everything is cristal clear!
I put my ABM's eq to flat, slightly cut at 1.2k and slightly boosted at 180hz and there it was! The sound I was looking for since I got the ML112.
I finally got everything everyone is raving about here.

BUT THEN........ I tried a friend's Aguilar db750
Holy ********* this is THE AMP for this cab!

I tried t it on different occasions with active JJs, and I never quite got it. but this thime with my passve Nordy VP(J) 5 and the ML112 I am convinced about the db750/ML112 combo as well!
Tonight I am gonna rock the whole package again :bassist:
