Bag End Cab Speakon Wiring

That's a good question. I don't know the answer, since mine is used. I don't think new ones do, no- but you will find out pretty soon!

I asked the seller and he said the s15d does not have speakons. I think I will buy the jackplate from BE and make the switch...

I love my S15-D/S15x-D cabs, felt the tweet was too bright for me so I removed it...sounds like the other one now.
Do any of you know if that jacks things up, say, impedance-wise?
Now, I am considering replacing it and getting the upgraded jack plate if I can...hmm

There could be some risk to your amplifier if the crossover is still in place--I've read on TB that running a crossover without a driver attached can appear to be a short circuit (zero ohms) at the crossover frequency. I don't know this to be true but I've read it here, so some caution and further research may be in order. If you removed the crossover, you should be fine.

I know it's an old thread but for those of you who are still interested. I thought the tweeter in my S15x-D was too bright too. so I bought this:

Works great. I back it up about 1/8th of a turn, much better.

I wish I felt confident enough to do it myself….it seems like it would be fairly simple, but I don't know where to wire it.

If you look at the pad from the back there are three poles. ignore the one on the left. One orange wire comes from the crossover. that goes on the far right pole of the pad and the center pole gets connected to the + pole on the woofer. That's it. I stuck velcro on the back of the pad and put it on the back of the tweeter so the control sits in the center of the hole pointing out. Pretty simple. I hope that helps

Necroposting to say thanks. Just got S15X-D and was worried it was messed up until I realized the 1/4" jacks work but not the neutrik. I'll be asking about new plates.
