Band Logo

My guitar player Dave made a cool looking Fc shape for our band, Four Chambers. I have been doing things to it in an attempt to come up with a logo, or a few logos.

If you have the time, I'd love to hear what ones you liked if any. Keep in mind we are sold on the shape of the Fc. at this point.

Thats quality work. I'd say if possible, see if he can redo one in illustrator so thats is one solid vector rather than bitmap images. Just so there wont be an ridges on it. Make those few ridgy areas one clean line. Then when its time to print it, it wont come out all blurry either, and you could even scale it to the size of a backdrop and have it for stage.

Besides that though, the design is really cool. It has presence, congrats!

I hear you on the vector vs. pixel, Dave designed the FC in illustrator, so we have clean paths. I did all the textures, skins etc. in photoshop. We would clean up the end result for print, whatever else.

I can do that, I compromised a bit for space reasons, but it's easy to slow it up. thanks.

The yellow one is sweet. I'm not sure how well the brown in the background goes with it though. Maybe more black.

Keep this in mind...

Professional logo designers believe that the best logos are ones that a 4 year old can recreate.

McDonalds - NBC - etc

Think of how many kids found it cool to repeately draw the Van Halen "VH" all over their schoolbooks....

That's the promotion money CAN'T buy...

Very good logo though...but keep it simple...here's some experiments for you that I use in logo design:

1) Print the page you posted "as is" from your website....and photocopy it...which one(s) look best now....?

2) Reduce all designs so they can fit on a postage stamp...which one(s) look best now...?

3) Convert all designs to grayscale - then Black/white - then 2 color (spot colors - no halftones)

I was always lead to believe that one of the best logo's ever created is the CBS "eye"...you can draw it using 3 lines. (basically a football shape with a circle in the middle)

Also the Coka Cola logo is currently known as the most recognizable logo in the world.

Hope this helps. Best of luck....post your final design...but take your time on it.

I like the simplest ones the best, in whatever color works for what you're doing. IMO you should also do a version where you have a black Fc inside of a big red Valentine's day style heart. I like the band name!

Ok, OK, no need to make fun. I was using to show that the FC is somewhat transparent.
