Hi, Do you think naming my band "Dance Epidemic" or "Dance Outbreak", names I thought of before Covid-19 came along, would turn off potential customers? Thanks.
My personal sense is that, yeah, that's a bad name. Of course, there's Cannibal Corpse, Rancid, etc. So what do I know?
i agree, "Dance" in a name is dorky. That being said, sometimes i think too much angst is put into a band name. Unless it's really offensive, a great name will not save a mediocre band, and a stupid or bad name will never hold back a great band. it just should not be offensive, easy to remember/spell (so people can find you after a show). but focus on being GOOD, and don't worry about the name so much
Oh dear, there's a local band with Dance in the name, & I never knew why that bugged me until now, LOL! Stop playing dance covers & call the band "Vanz Can't Dance!":
I like "Disco Balls"..... either a nod to those classy mirrored balls over the dance floor, or the ailment created by those hot sweaty polyester pants........ LOL Don't use baby powder -- they have law suits about that.......
How about Polka Fiasco? Me and some neighborhood musicians did a driveway performance - we were called Socially Distant.
I'm not bothered by the potential to offend sensitive darlings regarding C19. However, having "Dance" in the band name, and the name somehow not being dorky, will be a challenge.
I'm not sure if this is a joke, but if it is, I salute you If serious, yeah, it might go bad Like naming a restaurant "McFoodpoisoning's"
Dance Plague Dance Scourge Dance Infection Dance Flare-up Dance Affliction Dance Pestilence Dance Infestation Yep, they all suffer from unnecessary suckage due to the word dance.
