Band name problem?

OP...... now is not an optimal time for those names

I also highly suggest short names instead of longer ones....five or six characters tops. Reasons include:

- easier to remember and recognize
- stand out from background on any visual media, printed or online,
- clubowners don't use as many letters on the marquis.... subliminal things like this are always plusses
- standout more on merchandise and allow some merchandise options that longer names wouldn't look near as good as

isometimes i think too much angst is put into a band name. Unless it's really offensive, a great name will not save a mediocre band, and a stupid or bad name will never hold back a great band. it just should not be offensive, easy to remember/spell (so people can find you after a show). but focus on being GOOD, and don't worry about the name so much
I want to make sure I read this right. Naming the band "really offensive" is preferred to naming it "offensive".

I do think that If I was in a band named "really offensive" I could expect to have a lot of fun. I do agree that the word "dance in a band name can really sound bad.... an example "Really offensive dance";)

I think both of those names are fine but mediocre, and not because I dislike the word “dance”.

Names are not that important, but keeping it short and one word does help people remember it. It can be bad and if you’re good it won’t matter as long as it is memorable. Like “The Police”. Terrible name, great band. “Oingo Boingo” might have held them back some.

Rather than “Dance Infection” go for “Danceitis”. Dunno, not worth a lot of sweat though. Just be a great dance band and things will fall into place.
