Back in the late 60s early 70s there was a large 'clean' dance hall in Joplin, Missouri. One story high - flat roof. A big crowd would stand outside during music breaks and just mainly smoke, talk, and drink. But every time a police car would come near making its rounds a few dozen 'items' would go flying up onto the roof. I often wondered what the shelf life of those 'items' would have been and if a roofer one day noticed the jetsam? Maybe took some home? Oh, the good old days . . .
