band t shirt

The Nirvana "Insesticide" shirt (green one - there was also a rarer black version).

Yeah go ahead and spread the hate. I still like Nirvana's material up to that album.

No hate here. I love all the punk, non commercial stuff. I like the commercial stuff too. I was happy though when In Utero came out because by that point Cobain didn't need to bow to any record company and was able to put quite a few songs on the record that were more suitable to his particular leanings ( Scentless Apprentice, Frances Farmer, Very Ape, Milk it, Radio Friendly Unit Shifter, etc.)

My first concert shirt was from my first concert...Stryper-In God We Trust...I've bought a shirt at all but maybe 2 concerts I've been to, even though I too hate concert shirt prices...

thats good parenting

A couple of years ago I took my family to see Iron Maiden...my older son was wearing a Led Zeppelin Swan Song t shirt and my younger one was wearing a onesie that had baby scrawl on it saying "I listen to Led Zeppelin with my Daddy." My wife had to use the bathroom after the show so I waited outside with the boys for her. This lady walked up and said "oh, my God! You two are at an Iron Maiden concert and you're wearing Led Zeppelin t shirts! Don't EVER let anyone say your Daddy didn't raise you right! That was something that I think will always stay with me because I love doing concerts with my kids. Those two are 10 and 6 now. They asked me a few days ago when Iron Maiden would be here again. I asked why. They said that they just HAVE to take their little (20 months old) sister to see them!

pflash that is a cool story. been takin my daughter to concerts since she was 9. rush, maiden and many more. it makes me happy to say shes a metal head.

My daughter went to her first show at 7 months...ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd. My older kids have seen Chicago, Tom Petty, Steve Winwood, Earth, Wind and Fire, Boston, Styx, Iron Maiden, and others. They've even seen Dwight Yoakam and they've seen Merle Haggard. I take them as often as I can. When my older son turned 6 we gave him a Gibson Les Paul Studio and took him to see Santana on his birthday. When they played Incident at Neshabur they went into this long jam...incorporating Cheech and Chong's Earache in my Eye...eventually the singers came out and started improvising using the words "Happy Birthday". My kid looked up at me and squealed "Daddy, they're singing for me?!?!" It was all I could do to keep from tearing up. The music was great, the show FANTASTIC, and my little boy felt like the whole night was JUST for him. It was pure magic. I love moments like that that only happen around the atmosphere of a concert. I only wish I could have had the chance to tell the members of the band about my son's experience that night.
