Bands that got better through time?

Nir-van-ah. Seriously I love all of their stuff but Nirvana reached their peak on In Utero. And from what i have heard of kurts last solo recordings and "You Know Your Right" I love the direction in which they were heading for the next album. They kept getting better and its sad that it was so short. One of the big tragedies in recent music, IMO.

I was almost going to put Nirvana, but although I agree with the above, I also loved their earlier work, Love Buzz? great cover, and everything else on the first 3 albums. I consider them more consistent, although the musical style did differ greatly.

As I said I love all there stuff. Love buzz has an amazing bass line through-out. I pretty much love all the songs by them but I would have to say in general I favor the later stuff.

We are supposed to have a soul too?

Celine Dion I personally have not heard anything bad from her since the Titanic song... (probebly because i havent heard anything by her since then)

But even the Titanic song she did a remake of it... just listen guys its great... every musician should enjoy this... unless they dont have a soul.

Much more rock and roll i think...

Were supposed to have a soul?

PS i really like new system of a down cd... i think they acctually advanced big times...

never listened to bleach, so i can't comment on nirvana. if it's anything like incesticide, though, then i'd include them in this list. :scowl:

also, red hot chili peppers. their first cd suuuucked. continually got better, although i'm not a big fan of by the way.

Faith No More, though they kind of fizzled after King For a Day
Dude, Album of the Year was an AWSOME record. I completely agree, they got way better over time, up till and including AotY. Not to mention their unreleased stuff from KFAD and AotY is really good rock music.

Soundgarden. They're early stuff is energetic and everything but I am not to fond of it. However Badmotorfinger is great. Definately their turning point. But the last two records they did were be far their best.

I wouldn't say that. Album Of the Year I think is their most enjoyable album. (Angel Dust is by far their best, but it's not for everyone). They didn't really fizzle out, Mike Patton just got involved with several other projects at the same time, so the band kind of unoffically ended.

On a related topic, I'm going to mention Mike Patton. Most of the things he does is interesting. Even the projects he does that I don't dig, many others do. He has something for everyone.
