Bar Gig Rig...

I play in a ten-piece horn and guitar band, and always have full PA support, so the Avatar 2x10 works well for me, even at outdoor gigs--primarily it acts as a monitor; I've gotten away with an SWRworkingpro12 as a monitor in many smaller venues with no problem. A lighter 2x12 would be nice, maybe a GK neo, but I can't do the carrying thing anymore.

I can't tell you will work for you but I can tell you I have a 2x10 combo and I sometimes have a hard time producing enough CLEAN volume to hear myself on stage, and this is in a 1 guitar, 1 keyboard, acoustic drums, lead singer and me setup. Yes I tried elevating, flipping it sideways and leaning it back. The speakers start farting well before the amp starts clipping.

I am in the process or saving up for a second 2x10. Were I to start from scratch, I would have gotten a 2x12 (GB NEOX212T, mmmmm!) with the option of getting a second. But where weight is concerned, definitely 2 smaller cabs is the way to go. 2 trips from the car to the bar means less weight on your back at any one time. And at smaller venues or dinner hour gigs you can get away with a single 2x10.

Get two 2x10's and stack them. Easier to transport and more flexibility in setting them up.

+1!

I'm working in a LOUD, 6 pcs., country/rock group using two Avatar Neo 210 cabinets stacked as a vertical 410 powered by a GK MB2-500 head and using FOH probably 50% to 60% of the time.
I've yet to play a job that this set-up won't cover what I'm doing.
For rehearsals and small rooms I've been using one cabinet with much success.

The Avatar Neo 210 cabinet, (to my ears), is one of the louder, front-ported, 210's on the market.
Into one 210 my GK MB2-500 head gives 350 watts at 8 ohms.

I have been a 210 guy for the better part of 2 decades and still am but have learned through making mistakes that a 210 is not always gonna be able to carry the day. I now keep a 410 and 810 in reserve and used to keep a 610 on the 10 horn band's trailer when I did that gig for years.
