Yes, I should have said tube amps and old SS amps. I figure that most people who use SS have moved on to class D, which is very efficient. However, that is a big assumption on my part and not based on any real facts

Have you ever used one of the old "red heads" I've been wanting one of those for years now.

I still use tubes when I can. However, the "Red Head" amps really do compete with the tube heads (IMO/IME)!

I have the RH750 now. But it replaced the 450... And, I had them both for about a year comparing them...

I STILL prefer a real tube head whenever I can use one. But 9 lbs compared to 54 lbs, at my age, usually means class D. ;-)
