I think I've discovered the cause of this all: the site is a placeholder for the new SansAmp RPM preamp, which is next "version" of the RBI and what Geddy has used on Rush's latest album and current tour and can be seen in a photo of his rack in the August issue of BP. Comparing photos of the RBI to the photo on Bass Centre's site and a (small) picture of Geddy's rack, the rack handles are clearly chrome in both the BC pic as well as Geddy's rack and not black-plated as on the RBI. Also, the knobs look to be completely circular on the "RPM" vs six-sided on the RBI.

This makes sense for several reasons. If Tech-21 is getting ready to roll-out the RPM all the major retailers are going to have to get infrastructure ready for it as well, which means the page setup and possible replacing an item that was added on Thursday, November 24th 2005. At the same time, they can't place any concrete information on it until it hits the market and is ready to be ordered: thus the extremely small photo, lack of name, price and any technical details.

Yeah, I can't even fit all this stuff into my room. Probably should've just gotten 1 of each rather than 10 of everything.

Then again, international orders sometimes take 4-6 weeks so...I'm still hoping :D
