Double Bass Baroque Sonatas at Pitch

Have any of you guys tried the Marcello/Vivaldi cello sonatas at pitch? Marcello's 6th sonata lays really well that way and some of the others look like they probably would too, but it's still tricky enough in thumb position to be a fun challenge without sucking up months and months of practice time. Are there any recordings of them played this way? I have yet to unearth any and it'd be cool to see/hear it done on bass.

I think Michael Hovnanian started a project a few years ago to record all of them at pitch. I don't know if he ever finished them though.

I vaguely remember seeing his blog posts about this--but since the sound files didn't work anymore when I saw them, I wasn't sure if they were at pitch or not, since I couldn't find a specific mention somewhere of which octave he was doing.

Good to know, about Rabbath and Ed Barker. I'll have to see if I can hunt those recordings down now...

I think I downloaded the files at the time. I'd be happy to share with any interested parties if I can find them.

EDIT: I do have them if folks want to check them out.
