Bartolini B Axis or Delano JMVC 5 ?

Which pickups would you choose to be paired with a 3leaf anima Redbox preamp ?

B Axis J/MM from Bartolini or JMVC5/MC5 from Delano ?

Thoughts?

I don't have experience with the Delano, but I'm a bartolini fan in general and run the B Axis in a Warwick FNA Jazzman

That's a tough call. I have a couple B-Axis Jazz sets and a Delano J/MM set. Both are very strong pickups, so it would probably depend on how aggressive I wanted it to play. If that was what I'm going for, I'd probably say Delanos and some bright strings, but only by a nose.

Full disclosure; I've never had the opportunity to play with a B-Axis MM pickup, nor a Redbox, and the ones I do have are for four-stringers...so, "grain o' salt" and all that.

Yes I know it’s a though call! I might do a comparison of both and see what it looks like! Thanks for the insights

Just on the J, I've been happy with the Warwick MEC splittable MM that's in that bass, but the MEC J was underwhelming

The delano's sound bigger than a tradinional jazz. The Bart's are like a more even modern Jazz sound IME.
