it seems like barts rule supreme, from cost to sound. what's your take?

i'm trying to decide whether I want Villex, Nordstrand, or Bartolini Split-Coil Js for a graphite neck headless mahogany body bass i'm building.

What's your advice?

I am very happy with Bartolini products. I have them in both my Modded Jazz and Carvin LB75f. You won't be dissapointed.

its just the cost which is getting me. they seem, well cheap, in respects to stuff from nordstrand. i don't see how nordie stuff can be THAT much better.

plus, i'm looking for blade types, so i don't want nordstrands.

do you think that the split js would sound anything liek dingwall pickups (which are essentially really powerful split js)

Bah! I can't find Barts in Toronto! They're the only ones that makes pick ups that fit my Ibanez bass perfectly, so I'm stuck with crappy tone. >>
