Bartolini MK Shape 4 String Soapbar Pickups Answers

Discussion in 'Pickups & Electronics [BG]' started by vapochilled, Oct 14, 2005.

  1. Ok I e-mailed the sales team at http://www.bestbassgear.com Asking some basic questions on these pickups. I don't think They will mind me posting them. So I will.

    Hi Matthew,

    Thanks for your inquiry.

    1. Is there a 4 wire lead for potential coil
splitting, or is it 2 wire like the standard MK1's?

It is a 4 wire lead.

    2. Is see the actual pickup cover has the
bartolini logo across it like all there other pickups.
Is it a "nicer" (for lack of a better word) plastic,
than the MK1's? To me the MK1's seem to have a bit of
a cheap look and feel to them.

Not sure if you are familiar with the Bartolini shells for their USA made pickups...They are not cheap in my opinion...but to be honest, I have not seen the foreign made ones that are stock in the IBanez and Cort Basses to compare to :

This is a picture of a pickup that looks very similar...only difference is dimension:

    3. Do you know how dramatic of an increase in
frequency range, there is? Or how well the mids are
    increased, over the MK1?

Specifically and personally, I have to say that I don't....but the customers that I have sold these to have said the MK4CBC pickups are fuller and deeper sounding than the MK1s...the customers have been very happy with the replacements.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

    Best,
