Hello,
I have a Cort B5 Element that came stock with a set of Bartolini MK1 pickups (with stock preamp). They are the most polite sounding pickups I've ever experienced. Meaning, they are pure vanilla. Nothing exciting about them but then again nothing terrible about them either. The MK1s make me think of cross-training sneakers--they don't excel at any one thing but if you want to dabble in a little of this and a little of that, they'll get you by. That being said, I'm looking at a picking up an Ibanez BTB series bass. The BTB Standard series basses come with Bartolini BH2's.
How different are the BH2s from the MK1s? Are they equally as vanilla? Any more or less aggressive or warm?
Thanks.
