Barts vs Nordys

I'm thinking about changing out the pre on my Ibanez SR 1805 to a Nordstrand 3 band pre. It has the Nordstrand big singles and has a good sound but I feel like it could be better. What is everyones opinion on this and does anyone know anything about the stock pre's on the Ibanez Premium basses? Would I be crazy to switch out and would it make much of a diffrence?

John East's U retro and J retro match great with Nordy pickups too. Hey, they are evolutions of the Jazz pickup, so East's circuit works really well with them.

In my humble opinion John East preamps and Nordy pickups are the ultimate combo! Ahem, be sure to take fat wallet with you!

I have a John East circuit coming this week for my current 6 string build. Nordy Dual Blade pickups and this circuit...it should be a great combo. Although John's circuit is expensive, it's really easy to fit, pre grounded (no extra grounding wires needed), pre soldered harness and it comes with very nice stack knobs...which are very expensive on their own. It's an easy drop in unit...even the input wires are screw fit terminals....some things in life need to be a "no-brainer" experiance.
