Basket case body rehab !

I think this bass would sound killer with some pure nickel wrap strings like Fender 7150's or medium gauge D'Addario half rounds. Also , my L2000 neck pickup used to sound killer "vintage P" soloed with some broken in Rotosound Monel Jazz flats. You should do a string choice poll!

It's actually a different one, that body is sitting in primer right now in my shop. This is a basket case body that I bought on eBay quite a while back. But that's what kind of inspired me to go with this pickup in this bass.

I wonder what the DC Resistance reads on that MFD pickup? Will you go with a .022 uf or .047 cap?

Bridge cover, or no bridge cover ??? (And yeah, I know I can just put it in and take it off easily enough....I'm just curious as to what you guys prefer looks-wise)

I like the raw look and feel of it off... It's too bad El Corazon has to be on the backside, too...

It measures right at 10.5kO
.047 cap

That switch was one of my favorite features on my old L-2000.

Just my opinion, no bridge cover. The pickup and bridge are a nice balance. I'd also mod the bridge for string thru use the ferrules.

I think without the bridge cover fits the relicy look the best. I'd be tempted to install ferrules for a more finished/natural look whether or not they were actually used.

edit: Wanted to add that I really dig the look of that bass.

I'll be one of the few to say "No Cover". It's an awesome stripped down looking beast and putting the cover on almost looks like a scungy, dreadlocked snowboarder putting on a suit to go to court. Id also probably not worry about the cover on the holes on the back.

I love the whole look of it.

Maybe if the bridge cover was relicd' to have more of the tarnished look of the control plate?

no bridge cover ... always looked bulky and distracting ... unless you need a ' mute ' .? then a much duller one ....

i'd install old ferrules so they'd looked like they'd always been there ..

really need the pickguard .? i'd rather see the craze .. but i'm old and beat also .!

Can you slighty rust out the bridge cover and shôrten it. just to fit the bridge better. and leave the ferrel holes. it needs a little more buckle rash. but that's ît.. nicē build
