Bass accidentally unplugged

I accidentally unplugged my bass while playing with my band (other end of the cord still plugged in amp). In addition to potential speaker damage, could it have damaged my bass's input hole?

In case you were attempting to troll, so sorry, it doesn't really work at Talkbass. For better results, try mentioning Victor Wooten, or suggest that you like a $120 bass even though you also own a $1000 bass.

I have to share the following:

In 1971 my band was opening at Kent State U in Ohio for the James Gang and Glass Harp (Phil Keaggy) in a frat hall. Our guitarist decided he would blow both these guys off stage before they got on by having us do "Heartbreaker" by Led Zep. Midway through the extended guitar cadenza in the middle, he did the "step-on-my-cord" trick while being theatrical. We had no roadies. He had to stop, bend down and plug the guitar back in himself. At the back of the hall, I saw Joe Walsh and Phil laughing. Unfortunately, this didn't stop our guitarist's ego trip.

You've probably damaged your bass, your amp, your cable, your strap, and the amount of emotional scarring is insurmountable.

Your bass-playing days are over. Might as well send me all your gear. =P

It's really too small of a thing to worry about. Your bass is surprisingly resiliant - these tiny things are expected to happen and wont hurt anything. just don't make it a habit.

You need to wrap your cord through the strap.

It's amazing how many people I see to this day that don't wrap their cord through their strap to prevent this problem.

That's one reason why I no longer use Schaller straplocks. I used them for years, but they create a gap between the body and the strap. That prevents the strap from "holding" the cable snug against the body. Now I just use the cheapo .50 cent rubber washers from the hardware store.

He thought that he would put Joe Walsh in the shade by parroting Jimmy Page licks? That's just delusional. :D
