welllll.........................first. the guitar player i challenged said he just wasnt ready. so i gave him an extra week. then he went on vacation just before the set date we had (that was a week later than the original date) i still owe you guys a video so im going to find another, better guitar player to learn bass and do this with. i havnt even looked at my thread. i didnt really want to until i had a video. i will still provide a video as soon as i can for you guys....dont think i was happy in the slightest bit

So you're just gonna challenge another guitarist for the sake of it? I thought the whole point of this was that you were defending bass's honour, now you're just trying to get an easy victory over helpless prey by challenging someone at an instrument they don't play.

Battling is immature :) I was thinking three rounds, three solos per bass player in a round (makes six solos total per round) and thats nine solos played per person in the entire battle. and i got a friend with a basement and a drumset so i figured id see if hed let us play there. The only people allowed to watch this event will be the ones recording it. and there will be plenty. The drummer will be playing in 4/4 the key isnt going to matter(it would to me, but nobody else).

Must honestly say I would not like the "SOLO" as being the only contest even with time changes. I would also have the drummers switch rhythms and genres at will. I am 50 have played for longer than there has been a Canada, and I would think the Solo plays into the guitardist hand. HOLD DOWN THE GROOVE, this is the bassist job in any band from Metal to Blues to Jazz to you get the idea. Besides I have had tons of guitardist pick up my bass to show me they can play better, they will go numb locking into a pattern and staying on a walk for five minutes. The ultimate test is when your band is playing you stop, then you will see who is missed more.
Can't wait for more on this battle. Get LOW on this dude.

this boy had never played a bass before. and believe me ive run into a few other guitar players thinking they could "play" bass. its not like he was the only one. nor was he really a good guitar player i found out. I would give anyone i challenged the same exact terms. one month to learn bass. If they dont think they can do it, then that means they respect the bass.

and as stated before, im generally busy with other things to do. One day out of the week to record a bass battle is just one day.

So the upshot is that the guitard must have picked up a bass, tried it and realized it aint as easy as the myth says it is. Then he made another date just at the time he knew he was going away on vacation. ie: He wimped out!:crying:

If i were you i'd press him on it just for the fun of it. Lets see what other excuses he comes out with eh? :)
