BASS BATTLE!!!! ITS OOOOON BAYBE!!!!!!!!

Slap some Behemoth for himIll start this thread by telling tb about myself. Im currently a high school student. Ive played the double bass for almost five years now and the bass guitar for about one and a half.I like to think Ive been learning at my full potential of learning rate, for lack of a better word, when it comes to bass guitar and Ive learned an enormous amount I believe. There is a cocky guitar player at my school with the belief that he can learn bass better than me in just one month because apparently it is so easy to learn.
Mind you my favorite style is jazz bebop and I love doing bass as a melody while I also practice slapping religiously and even do some slap death metal. So I challenged this guy to a bass battle in exactly one month. That was yesterday.
So the issue is ..
we need a set of rules. Who here on talkbass has ever done a bass or guitar battle and has some nice rules to make the battle interesting and effective at showing our skills?
I have found about two or three judges for this event and all are bass players.
Help me out with this and help bass earn a little bit more respect in this world!
Am I the only one that thinks perhaps he deserved to get royally beat, like he clearly did? I mean come on, challenging someone to a instrument battle where you've been playing for years an they play for one month? To me that just seems a tad sad, even if it was the guitarist who issued the battle.

well, judging by the absence of a reply from the OP, we can only surmise that he, in fact, lost.
It probably never even happened...
Maybe he got killed when playing, in the end it was a battle right?? Maybe the opposite player took out his guitar and smaked him in the face...

I wouldn't say the OP has lost just yet. He's been online yesterday, so I guess he hasn't gave up bass or something. He might have just forgotten about this thread because the battle never happened. It's highschool, and has a guitard involved: most have attention spans of a few minutes. Also, not everybody uses the subscription mechanism to keep track on thread activity.

Too bad TB lacks a beating the dead horse icon the way that Flight Simulation Forums does, since it would be apropos here. This thread's toast.
