Tell him to play in a certain key. Guitarists don't understand the concept of keys and it's funny.

Challenge him to a slap contest, heavy fingerpicking contest, regular picking contest, double stops playing, and soloing.

I love guitarists... they're nature's punchline.

Challenge him to a duel on harmonic framework of Indian scales (also known as Thaats in India). Make some horrifying changes on these totally obscure scales and kill the poseur!

[rant](If you do do this, you will, IMO, crush him, pulverize him, squish him like a little teeny weeny roach under a freakin STEAMROLLER) [/rant]

If it's his one month bass education vs your years of practice, you may not need all this anyway.

I forget who had mentioned it earlier in the thread, but I think videotaping the entire battle and leaving both you and your friend unnamed/ anonymous would be a great idea. That way, you could have a poll on whether everyone thinks you or your friend is the real bassist.

In any case, i'm sure you'll win. Good luck! :bassist:

Play....

Nirvana's "In Bloom" BLINDFOLDED haha. Not the hardest song, but he'll look stupid when he screws up the slides.

I have a few songs I'll let ya play if you want that require 16th notes and make people dance. Funky mess.

If you really want to mess him up, have him play the DB or a fretless electric bass.... O.o
