Here's the quick story, I'm just starting to play guitar & bass, my wrists are kinda shot from playing drums for too long... anyway... here's what I have so far... for Gear... an EBMM stingray 4HH.. and thanks to a member on this board I will soon have a GBE750 ... now I just need a cabinet... The sound I'm interested in is as clean, warm and airy as I can get it... I prefer to go with 2x10's because I'm not going to gig and prefer to keep it small

Right now I've got it narrowed down to Epifani, EA, Bergantino, or Eden.... help me narrow things down !!:help:

I've got one...
8 ohms
600 watts
Sounds killer with: Thunderfunk 550A, Rack or Line6 LD 400 head and anything else I've tried like my Walter Woods 450/600 watt head

Plenty of bottom and midrange punch.... On an outdoor gig, with the cab turned on end/vertically, I was asked to roll off some bottom with my Thunderfunk...

The cabinet sounds great alone or with another 8 ohm cab!

Cleanest I don't know, but best sound comes from a Bergantino. Check the Classifieds right now. If I had 475 bucks you wouldn't be getting this advice, believe me...

yeah, I had it narrowed down to EA/Epiph... and was thinking about a genz benz(i dunno aboot that one tho)... then I saw the Bergantino and was like ... DANG IT!!!

and the power rating matches perfectly ... 400w@8ohms (.... and the bridge sways)

I still like the wayne jones 2x10.
I really needs a strong amp though to sound it's best. more so than other cabs I've tried.
The Glockenklang 2x10 is nice too.

What exactly do you mean when you say "clean" ?

clean, basically meaning that it doesn't shape the sound too much...

and sorry I thought aboot puttin this in the amp section... but a: I'm a dumb drummer... and b: technically it's not an amp question:eyebrow:

ok, looks like it comes down to the berg... the epifani PS... or a mesa boogie... The Berg seems like the best deal... and the majority of peeps like it the best as well... I'm not sure about it being 8ohm... but I am sure it should mate well with my new amp...

MESA Powerhouse Baby!!!

aight aight... I'm not working tomorrow, I'll go check out the Mesa (at their outlet)... then I'll roll to another place in studio city and check out the EA and Epi... I dunno where I can hear a berg <shrug> ... just seems like a great deal... and lots of peeps really seem to like em...

I have reservations of the carvin stuff, used some carvin pa equip... it was kinda noisy...

p.s. I shouldn't have reservations on the berg being 8ohm right?? I won't be gigging with this, so I don't need lots of volume..

I thought that this was what you meant.
I'd have a look at good PA monitors as well.
I also forgot hevos, who make nice cabs in deed.

Make sure you get to try whatever you are interested in, properly before you buy!!

The easy way I would think is to hear as many cabs as you can and go for the one, the tone of which you like best as all abs will have a voice I recon.
It is just a matter of wether this voice suits what you like and do.
GOOD LUCK!!!

IMHO and Experience:
MESA is very tight and clean, reproducing what ever you feed it!
At Bass Player Live in LA, MESA was in the middle of Epifani, Warwick, Trace Elliot, Peavey, GK, SWR, Genz-Benz, Fender, Line6, Ampeg and Ashdown... In the other rooms were, Aguilar and MarkBass.....
NOTHING compared with MESA... I am not endorsed and paid for my 2x100 Powerhouse 600... I've played through Bergantino and EA and I'll repeat, NOTHING compares with MESA.... Worth twice the $ when you consider the cost of Bergantino and Epifani or EA>>>> IMHO&E
