bass chords

greetings everyone,

ive been playing the bass guitar for exactly a year now, i recently became inrested in bass chords and arpegios(dont know how to spell that)
but i dont know whats what, does anyone know of a website that shows all bass chords?

For bass, you'll probably have the most luck with Triads.

Also, never over look the standard 4ths 5ths, and 5th/octave chords. You know... power chords.

A Major Triad- You can move it around the fretboard with the same pattern.

The great thing about arpeggios is that once you learn the shape, it translates to any spot on the fretboard.

Sometimes its easier to invert the triad, especially in the upper register so a D Maj triad would read:

True, but lots of really great chords include open strings (arpeggios you can't otherwise play) and harmonics. Really cool voicings are available by playing a fretted note BETWEEN two harmonics (like a Bb note fretted on the d string between the harmonics on the g and A strings at the 5th and 7th frets respectively. Gives you a nice Bb -E-G chord that can be all kinds of things depending on context (an e dim triad, yes, but so much more!).

The more I try these, the more useful I find them.
