Yes I know...somewhere buried deep, this question has been asked in this forum before. But, I'm lazy. Gonna ask it again: What is the TB commentary on the BEST/effective bass chorus pedal? Can be new tech or old classic. Minimum requirement for me (really a must), no bass frequency lost when chorus effect is engaged...the low end is not effected. Transparency.

Sounds like you want the EHX Bass Clone - it has an excellent crossover so low end is not affected.

I bought my MXR M134 specifically because it has a little button that can be engaged to high pass the side chain used to develop the chorus. Definitely keeps the low end from washing out.

My current Favs are TC electronic Corona & Ibanez CS 9.

The TC is more flexible with controls and tone print options. The Ibanez CS 9 is awesome sounding. Think Duff McKagan GN’R it’s what used and uses.

The MXR is great as well I’ve owned in the past and the Blue Boss Bass Chorus is also a solid choice.

If you don't need a chorus with a crossover the Digitech Hardwire CR-7 is a fantastic chorus. I bought one for the same reasons you've outlined and I haven't looked for anything else since.

Instead of a crossover frequency selector it just has a level knob so you can dial back the chorus tone, but with level at max I've never noticed a loss of low end. It has a mode knob as well so you can choose anything from a subtle, detuned "The Cure" bass tone to the wobbly, analog textured "Nirvana" chorus tone.

I've never had a problem with the old Boss Dimension C- just great chorus-y goodness.

I regret selling it years ago- so much so that I'm hoping that Sandy Claws/Mrs. basscapes hears my plea for the new Boss/Waza DC-2!!!

I'm Jones-ing for that old Gary Numan/Paul Gardiner Pleasure Principal sound!

Stereo input is a BIG bonus in my books (ala the Dimension D rack) and the switching for both DC-2 or SDD320 is pretty awesome. Let's face it- sometimes a STEREO CHORUS on the bass is just so cool (YYZ, anyone?).

I've heard some Original vs. Waza on youtube already, and the result are pretty darn close- close enough that I have so much GAS for this one, Mrs. basscapes swears she can smell solder fumes whenever we talk about it!!LOL

I agree about bass through stereo chorus. First time I ran my CR-7 stereo I was floored. Especially if you run dirt into a stereo chorus setup it's really something else. Huge in a way I believe can't be beat.

That's reminds me of how my rig was back in "the day" (and may be yet again!)- I ran the neck PUP (ala Ric-O-Sound) into a clean, ultra deep-sounding low-end amp/speaker (SWR 410 and an 18 with crossover), and the bridge PUP into something that was AT LEAST gritty-sounding (GT-2 at one point), through the DC-2 at the end of pedalboard with stereo outs running a single 12 on each "side".

YYZ, indeed! Of course, with some of the dirt boxes I had, the rig could sound like a full on backing gtr and bass in unison underneath the lead during his solos! oh, those were the days!

The thing I'm pondering is (I can already hear the cries of the neighbors and Mrs. basscapes)-

"Clean" bottom through Ampeg SCR-DI, Quilter BB800 and 810 "fridge".

"Dirty" top through Tronographic Rusty Box, into the Waza, then through a stereo power map (might call up the SWR 800 from the storage closet) into a pair of (yet to be built) TL606 boxes (set on either side of the 810).

They all sound different so it depends what you like. I really like the sound of the TC Electronic Corona and the EBS Unichorus. I have a Corona and it's really excellent, although I don't bother with the Toneprint and Tri-chorus features.

This is the sort of sound I like to use it for, high speed and low depth chorus that reslly shimmers. Well, I try to sound this good!

When I use chorus, which is not often, I prefer a warmer chorus than the typical Boss sound, so that's why I went for the MXR Bass Chorus Deluxe.

ANY chorus, and a Boss LS-2.

I don't have an LS-2, but I'm just fine with the bass retention within my cadre of chorus pedals:
Boss CE-2B, Danelectro Cool Cat Chorus, and there's a few decent khoroi in the ol' M5, but the crown jewel in my collection is my Dr Scientist Cosmichorus.

I prefer the IE Polytope. Most bass-specific choruses are on the "warm" or "watery" side, but I prefer a more chime-y, high-end focused chorus because it cuts through a mix much better. The Polytope (at subtle settings) is the best I've found for that type of use, and there is zero loss of bass.

Also, the newer version of the Polytope can handle those warmer chorus tones as well with its new functionality, so it is even more useful.
