My wife said she would get me a bass for my birthday this Fall(very cool!), I'll just need to give her some direction on what to get, where, etc. It technically won't be a surprise, but that's ok! 
I'm looking at the Ibanez SRF706 & the Tune Hatsun TWB63NF-WG. Both are obviously great basses, but I'm looking for pros/cons, opinions? The SRF706 is available domestically vs the Tune from Canada, and would be easier to deal with in the unlikely event of any problems, and the 706 will end up being a less expensive proposition overall, too.
