Bass effect on Hysteria by Muse

Hey!

I've heard that Chris Wolstenhome, bass player with Muse, uses a lot of effects and I'm wondering what effect he uses on Hysteria? Obviously it'd be great to find out without having to spend a load of money on different pedals just to try out!

I know he uses a Big Muff a lot and was wondering if that's what he uses on this song? Also, if I was to buy a Big Muff is it best to get the bass version or ust the normal version? Cheers.

I've used *science* to develop a formula that accurately characterizes threads like these:

let
x = the effort required to provide a simple and direct answer to the OP's inquiry;
y = the effort required to sneer at the OP's failure to identify the answer via Search;
bs = random smartass replies (a constant proportional to the thread length);

therefore:

y + bs > 12.5(x)

Clearly the work of the devil this "science".
