To get back to playing. I had 2 surgeries in the past year. Left wrist tendon then recently a right rotator cuff repair. I have not played in a year! I miss it.
May you get back to playing and become better than you've ever been ASAP.
Luck!

Neither am I.I’m not a big New Year resolution guy.
My goals are to finish 2 instruments I started last year and start a 3rd. Build a 6 string and learn to play it. Build speaker cabs for my little Warwick gnome. Just generally get better at building basses and settle in to a general design that fits and plays well for me. Start noodling and playing again and learn how to use the little Behringer interface and Audacity program I downloaded so I can record and keep track of how the basses sound. But I still believe the New Year is an opportune time to reflect and maybe set some goals.
If you live in a large metro area with a lot of potential good/quality gigs to shoot for, this could be hugely rewarding. I wish you the very best with it (and envy you a bit
You might be interested in John Patitucci's online jazz bass course. I'm currently working on it and have found it to be the best, bar none. He's a friendly but hard master; assumes complete commitment, lots of practice time, willingness to brush up reading and gives no spoon feeding. He covers the basic building blocks, of course, but then always insists "Now, run with it tonally and rhythmically, and make it into music". Some tracks provided for that.
